Spanish tragedy. Kid T.
“Spanish tragedy” is the most famous work of the English playwright Thomas Kid (1558-1594), who is considered the author of the so-called “Hamlet”. Appearing around 1587, the “Spanish tragedy” became the most popular theater play in England at the turn of the XVI-XVII centuries and created the canon of the Elizabethan bloody tragedy of revenge. In addition to the first executed and exhaustingly commented equal translation of “Spanish Tragedies ”, the book includes translations of“ additions ”(ed. 1602) to the“ Spanish tragedy ”, presumably composed by Ben Johnson (1573-1637), and the national ballad created at the end of the 16th century based on the play by T. Kida. P>
