In the manual (the first edition was published in 1957), written on the basis of a speech therapy course (preschool department of the pedagogical faculty of the GPU named after A.I. Herzen), a scientifically based system of methods for overcoming the age and pathological failure of children's speech is presented. The pedagogical specificity of preschool education, the nature of the violations of the speech of the preschooler and the qualifications of its teacher are taken into account. In detail, the age phonetic characteristics of the speech of preschool children and some pathological changes in the pronunciation, which the teacher can cope with his own forces, are described in detail. In addition to the description of easily applicable methods, more specific methods are considered in detail to correctly disinfect speech disadvantages.
