St. Sergius: Collection. Comp. Chutykova L.A.
The name Sergei is Latin origin. Translated, it means "venerable." “There are names that were worn by historical people who lived at a certain time, who made a historically known life business, but the names that have already come out of the borders of time. Such people become their eternal companions for the future generations, and for whole centuries they reverently repeat their expensive names not so much so as not to forget the rules that are bequeathed by them. ” - These are the words of the historian V.O. Klyuchevsky from the book about Sergius of Radonezh. But these words can also be attributed to other historical personalities who have become our guides. We must reverently honor their memory.
In our book, the lives of saints with the name Sergius, as well as church traditions about them are given. The biographies of venerable saints will help a modern person better understand the true life of the Church.
