Stigmata. Ellis
“A scattered poet, a brilliant person” - so described Marina Tsvetaeva Ellisa - L.L. Kobylinsky. In general, Ellis’s poetry was not loved, sometimes they were scolded poisonously, sometimes they were indifferently commented. His first poetry collection “Stigmata”, which saw the light in 1911, had the structure of “Divine Comedy” with his hell, purge and paradise. The collection has become for the modern writers only a religious pathos virsche.
In 1914, the last domestic collection of G. Ellis - “Argo” will be published in Russia, although Lev Kobylinsky himself has long been in Germany and was studying Steiner. Argo was successful, but this was no longer particularly interested in the author. So the status of a talented critic, theorist, theoretician, was forever entrenched in Ellis... Today, the reader himself can decide whether to add to a row through a comma -reputed word “poet”. The book includes both poetic collections of Ellis with copyright preface and additional parts “Forgotten Vits” and “Maria”.
