Stigmata. Mattoty L.
The graphic novel “Stigmata” is a kind of modern de Profundis: the story of an unsettled alcoholic, who unexpectedly, including for himself, opened the stigmata non -healing wounds in their hands, like the saints. Performed in an expressive, and sometimes giving insanity graphic style, the novel is saturated with biblical allusions and quotes from the life of St. Teresa from Lyzia. And all this in order to remind us of the ancient truth: even in the most pitch darkness there is a chance to go to the light.
This book is the result of cooperation between the excellent Italian screenwriter Claudio Pierceanti and the outstanding Italian artist Lorenzo Matti, the owner of the Grand Prix -with the International Biennale of Illustrations in Bratislava and the American award of Will Icener in the field of comics.
