The collection “Stories about animals for children” included the most popular works of Boris Zhitkov, who are studying at school - “Handy cat”, “Mangusta”, “About the elephant” and others. These dynamic, adventure stories are based on real events. Boris Zhitkov was a sailor, traveled a lot around India, Madagascar, Ceylon. He recorded interesting cases that took place with him on the way. Later, his famous stories grew out of them.
