Gaito Gazdanov (1903–1971) is one of the most interesting writers of Russian abroad. After the revolution, Gazdanov joined the white movement and later was forced to leave his homeland forever, sharing the fate of many Russian emigrants. Most of his life spent in Paris; For many years he worked as a night taxi driver, since 1953 he was a correspondent, and then the Radio Liberty editor.
