Supernatural in primitive thinking. Levy-Brule L.
This book presents two most important works - about the nature of primitive thinking and about the driving forces of mythological consciousness, written by the outstanding French philosopher and anthropologist Lucien Levibrule (1857–1939). Levibruil believes that in some areas primitive thinking is manifested as a qualitatively different than the thinking of a modern civilized person. He called him pravological thinking.
, in such thinking, in his opinion, insensitivity to contradictions, impermeability to experience, subordination to the law of “projection” (community) are characteristic. At the same time, rightological thinking does not exhaust all the manifestations of the intelligence of the primitive person. For example, in the practical sphere, the thinking of primitive man is as logical as the thinking of a modern person.
, on the other hand, the thinking of a modern person can also acquire praudicity, for example, in the field of religious or moral representations. Therefore, logical and praological thinking do not form one line, but are two types of thinking that exist simultaneously both in primitive and in modern society. In this composition, work has been released for the first time since 1937, when the first edition of these works in Russian was undertaken.
It is this publication that is the basis of this book.
The book can be recommended to religious scholars, anthropologists, psychologists, as well as everyone who is interested in the problems of the development of human thought and mythological representations.
