Historian John Keller was at a conference in one of the hotels of Switzerland, when nuclear weapons destroyed most of the world. People are covered with panic. But John remains faithful to his profession and documents events after the disaster, making up the chronicle of modern days. He carefully captures his experience, and also collects the stories of other guests, hoping that he will be able to preserve at least the memory of the disappearing humanity. But many of the survivors have their own secrets that they are not ready to share. John finds the body of a little girl on the roof. Which of the guests is a killer? Keller begins to explore a huge hotel in the hope of finding the guilty and answers to his questions.
