This is a story about a world very similar to ours, with the exception of one: vampires live next to people who are full members of society. Vampires are not born - they become a label. When the transformation begins, the newcomer has only two ways: to accept his new essence by going to study at the closed vampire school of the night, or to die.

So in the monastery of the night is sixteen -year -old Zoe Montgomery. However, she received her mark in a not quite ordinary way, because the goddess of vampires - NIKS chose it.
