Syria through the eyes of an Orthodox pilgrim

Syria, this small Middle Eastern country, unexpectedly became the main pain point of the planet. The events taking place on the ancient Syrian land have, of course, an economic background, but still it is much more important to see their main meaning today-the spiritual meaning. That is why in this book a conversation about the political situation in the Middle East is preceded by the narrative of the events of the sacred history associated with Damascus, about the great Christian ascetics of Syria, about the centuries -old experience of the coexistence of Christianity and traditional Islam in this country. They say that every country and people have their own guardians, and, of course, the grace of Syrian ascetics stores this holy land. Let's hope that the Monk Efrem Sirin - the father of crying and repentance - will pray to the repentance and deep knowledge of Christ for his people.
