Sadko, Sivka-Burka, Maria Morevna, Snow Maiden. - 30 Russian fairy tales appear before us with rare illustrations of masters of book graphics of the XIX - early XX centuries. Georgy Narbut (1886-1920), Elena Polenova (1850-1898), Ernst Lissner (1874-1941), Boris Zvorykin (1872-1942) and many others-before the revolution of their work were no less famous than the famous illustrations of Ivan Bilibin. Today, the books they have made out have become collection rarities. Most of the illustrations presented in the publication return for the first time in a century - like some Russian tales, almost unknown to the modern reader: “Wooden Eagle”, “Tsarist Pearl”, “Mosquito and Swallow”.
