The tales of the Grimm brothers are well known to both adults and children. But this collection is exceptional. Boris Arkadievich Diodorov - one of the most noticeable illustrators of the children's book of our time - created drawings for twenty -three fairy tales of the brothers Grimm in the style of ancient engraving with coloring.

The artist’s exquisite and painstaking work causes endless admiration. First, he made drawings with black mascara on a very thick coated paper, then it scratched the contours of figures and objects with a scalpel and clarified the details. Zincographic forms were made from the drawings. The artist painted black and white prints from these forms.

Illustrations of B.A. Diodorov was made specifically for the texts of fairy tales in the classic translation of Grigory Detnikov and perfectly convey all linguistic subtleties.
