Tank painting is the most important part of the Buddhist art and the life of Buddhists of the direction of the diamond chariot - Vajrayana, widespread in Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia, as well as in some regions of Russia - Buryatia, Tyu, Kalmykia. Each imprinted image is not only an image of a deity, an object to imitate or a symbol of faith, but also open gates connecting a person through contemplation and internal fusion with the sacred world. A tank is a mirror of internal perfection, and creating it with the help of complexly prepared mineral colors is perceived as a spiritual road on the way to complete liberation. Not a single ritual action in Tibetan Buddhism was complete and does not do without these images. They are used during the temple ministry to connect with a creature that has reached enlightenment, and the indigenous teacher, as well as in the practice of laity to turn to higher forces to earned well -being, health, and long life. The artistic and historical album is composed of 250 unknown works of mainly Buryat and Mongolian artists of the late XVIII - early XX centuries, stored in private collections of connoisseurs of the art of the East. It also differs from other publications with a special perspective of comments, which pays attention to the spiritual formation of an artist-player and is considered the influence of early religious cultures on the formation and spread of Tibetan Buddhism. For ethnographers, religious scholars, art historians and a wide range of readers who are interested in Buddhism and the art of the peoples of Central Asia and Southeast Siberia.
