“Tao de Jing”, or “Canon of the Way and its good strength”-the fundamental text of Taoism, a monument to the Chinese literary tradition, which had a huge impact on the culture of China and the whole world. The authorship of this treatise is attributed to the legendary Lao Tzu (VI-V centuries BC), which, according to Shi Ji (“Historical Notes”) Sima Qian, wrote it, “moving away from the world and moving in an unknown direction”.
