Telemedicine is a modern health tool aimed at optimizing the organization, standardization of quality and accessibility of medical care. The introduction of a patient-centered (“patient-doctor”) telemedicine in Russia occurred on July 29, 2017 thanks to the signing by President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin Federal Law No. 242-ФЗ “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation on the Application of Information Technologies in the Field of Health Protection”. For the first time at the legislative level, the concept of “telemedicine technologies” is enshrined, the features of medical care provided with their use are established.
