Her searches were dragged on for several decades, information about her fate was collected literally by bit, and so far the picture of the incident is replete with white spots - although in the fall of 2014 a sensation broke out: after more than one and a half centuries of the “Erebus” searches, he was finally discovered, and the scientists have already begun to the study of the remains of the ship, perfectly preserved in polar waters; Well, two years later, in the fall of 2016, with the help of a remotely controlled mini-submarin, “terror” was also found. But a few years before this amazing discovery of Deng Simmons, the famous author of Hyperion and Endimion, Ilion and Olympus, Kalim and Dark Death Game, proposed his version of events: the main threat to the expedition They made up not crushing hugs of ice, not a cold with a blizzard and not spoiled by canned food - but an unknown gigantic monster, as if woven from snow and polar darkness.

In February 2018, a 10-episode film adaptation of Terror, shot by Ridley Scott Scott Free Productions, is released on the television. Edward Berger performed the director, Simmons himself participated in the script, the main roles were played by Jared Harris, Kiaran Hynds, Tobayas Menzis, Paul Radi. For 2019, the second season has already been declared.
