But a few years before this amazing discovery of Dan Simmons, the famous author of Hyperion and Endimion, Ilion and Olympus, the summer of the night and the dark game of death, proposed his version of events: the main threat to the expedition They made up not crushing hugs of ice, not a cold with a blizzard and not spoiled by canned food - but an unknown gigantic monster, as if woven from snow and polar darkness.
