The narrative conveys the touching story of love arising between the student Ilya Chetverukhin and the young pianist Evgenia Grandmeson and carried through the long years, which absorbed the joys and sorrows, which were crowned with martyrdom and holiness. The biography of the holy martyr Elijah is enriched and expanded by letters from the family archive, which are published for the first time, as well as many photographs unknown to a wide range of readers. The book was compiled according to the memoirs of the relatives and friends of Elijah, his wife Evgenia Leonidovna, sons of Sergey and Seraphim, as well as his students and followers, parishioners of the Moscow temple in the name of St. Nicholas in Tolmachi.
