Jane Osten (1775–1817) - satirist, the founder of a family novel in British literature. Her moral novels are recognized masterpieces of world literature, they are simple in the plot, ironic, soft, pierced by truly English humor. This short household novel Jane Osten was written in 1816 and was first published posthumously under the same cover with the Northenger Abbey. Ironically and subtly, the author draws portraits of provincial girls dreaming of marriage and chasing the inheritance, venerable Matron, self -loving and selfish beauties. The exciting life story of the daughter of the famous baron, Sir Walter, who was in his own fault in a difficult financial situation, has been filmed more than once.
