The series of books “Classical Library for Drawing” includes rare ancient publications that have both cognitive and bibliographic value. < P> Wilhelm Ostvostild-a Russian and German physicist, a chemist and an idealist philosopher, a 1909 Nobel laureate, belongs to those natural scientists who made discoveries unusually important for the development of chemistry. In his scientific activity, he took a lot of time research in the field of color theory. From 1910 to 1920, a number of works devoted to the doctrine of color were published. The goal of Ostvostild in his deep study of color was to develop the principles of selection of harmonious combinations that can be directly used in production. Even the Farbkunde book had a complete name: “Flower science: a manual for chemists, physicists, natural scientists, doctors, physiologists, psychologists, colorists, color techniques, printers, ceramics, dyers, weavers, artists, bushes, painters of posters, drawers of patterns, modists”.

The study of harmonious combinations of color, especially in modern ideas, is impossible without familiarization with the color circle of Ostvostild. Although we see daily the embodiment of his work in the monitors of computers, smartphones, TVs that reproduce the color in the encoding RGB (Red, Green, Blue, - red, green, blue), this system was developed based on Oustild's discoveries.

P> OSTYLDD developed entire sets of colors for training in art schools and schools. He prepared practical tasks on color science, according to which generations of European artists studied. The contribution of the OSTILD to the science of studying color is colossal, many systems for analysis and streamlining of color that exist in our time are based on his work. Despite the extensive scientific activity, Ostwild continued to engage in painting. Since 1915, he participated in exhibitions, in the 1920s he organized large personal exhibitions.
