The attention of readers is proposed to the book of a Russian writer, criticism and theater teacher D. D. Kolyyakov, which gives a systematic presentation of the theory of the basics of artistic reading. The author puts forward three groups of art of expressive reading - technical, logical and artistic conditions, and then examines each group in detail. Stage learning are set out to expressive reading. The difference in the performance of lyrical and dramatic works is analyzed, the features of the transmission of comic episodes, as well as reading the explanations and remarks of the author, are highlighted. The introduction presents the historical outline of the art of recitation, the meaning of expressive reading in public, pedagogical and artistic terms is considered.
