The armed of the Athos Monastery Filofei, the elder Ephraim (in the world - John the Moraitis) was born on June 24, 1928 in the city of hair (Greece). 19 years old he forever moved to the Holy Mountain, becoming the novice of the holy elder Joseph Isihast, Silentician and Cave.

The book of salvation is a collection of sermons and conversations of the elder Ephraim, which became the quintessence of his richest spiritual experience for Almost sixty years of monastic life. The students and followers of the elder published the carefully collected words of his teacher and mentor, calling the book the first volume, hoping for the continuation of this publication. However, the tireless preacher of the monastic life, the founder of 18 Orthodox monasteries in the United States of America and Canada, the elder Ephraim since 1995 retired to the desert for the sake of silence, praying about the whole world. For it is the fruit of a rich genuine experience, agreeing with more than a two thousand -year -old holy tradition of the Orthodox Church, delivering the true education of his studying.
