In one of the masterpieces of the historical prose of Valentin Pikul-the novel “The Battle of Iron Chancellors”-a picture of complex Russian-German relations during the acute European political crises of the 50-70s of the XIX century, when the Chancellors from different parties were Prince Alexander Mikhailovich Gorchakov and Otto Bismarck. The book also included the excellent miniatures of the author about diplomats and diplomatic relations.
