The battles of Orlov. Glagoleva E.
After the bloody Friedland battle, Emperors Napoleon and Alexander unexpectedly entered into a peace treaty in Tilsit. The French turned from sworn enemies into the allies of Russia, which now should abandon profitable commerce with England and support the continental blockade. But the Tilsit world does not mean calm. In Europe, a fire of a new war is flared up. While the triumphal arches are being erected in Paris, and in St. Petersburg they have fun at the balls, Spain rebels against the French protege on the Spanish throne, the Finnish partisans are in wait for Russian soldiers in snowy forests, the Swedish king will be overthrown by the conspirators. This is just the beginning of a long history, and Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in 1812 will become the climax.
