The besieged Warsaw. Zhdanov L.G.
November 1830. In Warsaw, it is still calm, but the riot is already preparing. In hairdressing and other city institutions, conversations are mainly about politics. The university is also fermentation. All are inspired by the recent revolution in Paris, when the principles of liberalism triumphed for the “three glorious days” in France. The Poles are sure that the Russian emperor Nicholas, wearing the Polish crown, should give them more freedom. However, Nikolai himself is against. He believes that the Poles are not enough mature people, but only an absolute monarchy, that is, autocracy, is suitable for immature peoples as a form of government. Liberalism is harmful to them.
This book is the third part of the Lev Zhdanov novel cycle about the Polish uprising of 1830-1831. The first two books - Polish Question and Warsaw Listopad - are previously published in the same series.
