The best fables of the world
"... The world that we find in the fable is a clean mirror in which the human world is reflected," this is how Vasily Zhukovsky described the fable at the beginning of the 19th century. The fable gives extraordinary pleasure to readers of any age. Not surprising, because it goes back to the wonderful legends of primitive times, unusually popular in cultures of various nations. The greatest fabric of antiquity was Greek Aesop (c. 600 BC). From the Greeks, the fables switched to the peoples of Europe and Asia, translated and remade in all languages, until in Russia this genre was brought to brilliant perfection Ivan Krylov (1769-1844). Morality, which receives an attractive one through the fable, is the main property of this “pure mirror” that helps a person look at his imperfections.
