In 2016, the millennium of the stay of Russian monks on the Holy Mount Athos was fulfilled. Among the large Russian monasticism in the first earthly deed of the Mother of God were inhabitants from the Holy Assumption Pskov-Pechersky Monastery in the second half of the 20th century. The zeal of the permanent Metropolitan Nicodemus (Rotov), ​​who heads the department of external church ties at the named time, under the governor of the Pskov-Pechersky Monastery, Archimandrite Alipia (Voronov), were prepared and directed to the Holy Mount Athos of several groups of monks. At this time, the Russian Holy Panteleimon Monastery died out. The farm was desolate. Support for 15 monks from the Holy Assumption Pskov-Pechersky Monastery for the Russian monastery on Athos was tangible in spiritual and economic ministry. In 1976, the governor of the Pskovo-Pechersky Monastery Archimandrite Gabriel (Stebantichenko) issued a visa for several monks from our monastery for their departure to the Holy Mount Athos. We list some of them: Hieromonk Martinian (Sinegayev), Hieromonk Jerome (Shurygin), Hierodiacon Jacob (Zarudny), monk Andrey (Vovkozha), novice Ivan Dudchenko from the city of Vladimir - the future monk Innocent (participant in the Great Patriotic War) and others. The spiritual fate of the inhabitants developed differently.
