In the collection “The Brill between Russian Literature”, the philological prose of Sergei Dovlatov was first quite fully represented. He wrote about Pushkin and Tolstoy, V. Uflande and A. Sinyavsky, Kafka and Hemingway (as “Russian” and personal authors). Reviews of Dovlatov, a magazine division, turn into literary portraits, then into essays of literary morals.

The philological prose of Dovlatov is not characterized by objectivity, but by personal tone, ulcerativeness, humor - the same properties that are characteristic of his “ordinary” prose.

Dovlatov’s texts are accompanied by a real comment and article of the professor, d. n. I.N. Sukhikh.
