The calf with an oak was buttled. Essays on literary life. Solzhenitsyn A.I.
The book was written, according to the author, “between two blocks” (“The Gulag Archipelago” and “Red Wheel”) and was first published in the Paris publishing house “Imka-Press” in 1975. A significant part of the work was made up of the plots related to the New World magazine, its chief editor A. T. Twardowski, the history of the publication of the story “One Day of Ivan Denisovich”. Essays were written in several tricks. The main part was dated 1967, four additions were created in the period from 1967 to 1975 in Russia and Switzerland.
Particular interest is the fifth addition of the “invisible”- about those who helped the writer during the years of persecution and the ban on his work in the USSR. This chapter was published only in 1991, when the “invisibles” no longer threatened the persecution. ““ Buddled a calf with an oak ”is a cheerful, bright, strong book that teaches each of us that if you are strongly convinced of something, then you are the only warrior in the field” (N. D. Solzhenitsyna). P>
