The candle was burning. Pasternak B.
The publication included the main collection of lyric works of the largest Russian poet, the Nobel Prize laureate Boris Leonidovich Pasternak (1890-1960): nine poetic books, including poems from the novel “Doctor Zhivago”, as well as the autobiographical essay “People and Provisions”. According to Dmitry Likhachev, the spiritualizing power of Pasternak’s poems forces to think and feel. And no matter how difficult the poet’s path is from the “high tongue -tied” of the early “frantic” verses to the “stunning simplicity” of late lyrics - for many generations of readers he was and remains loved and significant, like a pure sound in the deafening noise of the era.
As Tsvetaeva wrote, Pasternak will never have a “area”, but there will be “many lonely, lonely many thirsty, whom he, a soluble spring, is stirring.”
