Norman Meyler - an American prose writer, publicist, film director, twice awarded the Pulis award - for the novels “Nagiy and Dead” (1948) and “The Song of the Executioner” (1979). The Board of the Barbarians (1951), recognized by critics by one of the most ambiguous works of the writer, is built on a mixture of various genres and unfolds against the background of the Kafkian and Orwell scenery.

The main character of the novel discovers that his house neighbor is a participant in the famous murder of Leo Trotsky and a preacher of extremist ideas. The main conflict is built around the eternal question - is the achievement of a noble goal justified by any means?
