Most of all, Harvey Kurzman's name is associated with the famous American satirical magazine MAD. However, few people know that in the early 1950s a famous author, editor and cartoonist went down in the history of modern comics in the status of a classic of military painted stories.

These historically accurate, well-developed graphic stories came out in two magazines oriented to adult audience: Two-Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat. The main role in them was played by horror, madness and desperate fear that they reign in any war.

“The corpse in Imjin” contains not only 11 Kurtzman comics, but also a couple of dozens of other classic stories that were created in collaboration with such recognized masters as Alex Toy, Gene Kolan, Joe Cubert, Dave Berg, Rick Estrada and John Severin.

The book also includes a complete collection of all covers behind the authorship of Kurtsman. Along with this, the publication includes essays and notes about his life and work and the history of the EC Comics publishing house, whose works continue to remain amazingly modern even today, after 70 years.
