The name of the creative duet Evgeny Voyskunsky and Isai Lukodyanov, although it does not stand in the leading place, like, say, the names of Ivan Efremov, the Brothers Strugatsky or Kira Bulychev, but nevertheless it is one of the brightest pages in the history of Russian science fiction. One thing is that their first joint experience - the novel “The Crew Mecong”, released in the early sixties, was allocated from the stream of manuscripts Arkady Strugatsky, who was at that time in the staff of the Detgiz editors, eloquently speaks for himself.

The book is written by a rare, human language for the then fantasy, full of humor and good irony, masterfully decorated with the details of the unique life of the Southern Caspian city, people are not mannequins, not schemes, non-walking ships-expressers of some Project or ideas, but just people, the same as we are not geniuses, but not fools either. “UR, the son of Sham,” written more than ten years later, formally adjoins the “Mecomb” crew.

In the novel, the heroes of Mekong are found with the son of Babylonian, who returned to Earth, several millennia ago cosmic aliens abducted from the ground. Fantastic? Yes, sure. But this is a novel about love. About love overcoming space and time. Love, for which the problem of the choice between the common universal mind, to which the hero has been introduced, and the inability to return with the “unusable” planet Earth to the highly developed planet Eir, is decided in favor of the first - the planet, on which UR, the son of Sham, found love.
