The publication of the first edition of the book led to the tragic death in 2000 of the modern Nuclear submarine cruiser Kursk. The reprint was initiated by the emergence of new materials and studies about the probable reason for its death, which has become the subject of detailed analysis and discussion. The book also tells about the confrontation between the Russian and NATO underwater forces in the depths of the World Ocean, about the non -eared record achievements of our submariners, whose life is full of extreme situations, heroics, and sometimes tragedy. The book includes unique photos from personal archives of submariners.
