The death of Vazir-Mukhtar. Tynyanov Yu.
The historical and biographical novel “The Death of the Vasir-Mukhtar” is dedicated to the last years of the life of Alexander Sergeyevich Griboedov (1795-1829), whose play “Woe from Wit” entered Russian classical literature and still does not leave theatrical stage. But the author of the novel, the famous writer Yuri Tynyanov, only by tangent considers the figure of Griboedov-writer, although the whole work is imbued with the atmosphere of his work. Much more attention was paid to the not so famous pages of the life of Griboedov: his diplomatic activity (he was one of the creators of a peace treaty between Russia and Persia, and then an ambassador in this country), proximity to Decembrists, friendship with Pushkin and love for two completely different women - Ballerina Ekaterina Teleshova and Georgian Princess Nina Chavchavadze, who became his wife.
