A professional journalist, a criminal chronicle, who was fired from the newspaper, was interested in the dead, whose corpse was found in a roadside cuvette. Risking his life, he begins to investigate this murder. The feasible help in this, as it turned out, is a confusing case by his old friend, a criminal investigation officer Sergei Shuvalov. The result of their investigative actions caused bewilderment of everyone, including the friends themselves.
