The diary of the writer (1876). Dostoevsky F.M.

In the “Writer’s Diary”, who has no analogues in Russian and foreign journalism, Dostoevsky directly communicates with readers and as if inviting to join the discussion of deep topics that are dedicated to all his work: man and God, good and evil, freedom and fate of Russia.

In the notes of 1876, he pays special attention to the analysis of the world policy of that time and spiritual diseases of Russian society, which turned out to be largely prophetic. And the result of his thoughts can be considered the story “Mole” first published in the November chapter, where the writer explores the relationship of tyrant and victims on the example of an ordinary family.
