The story “The Enchanted Wanderer” is the most famous work of the Russian writer Nikolai Semenovich Leskov (1831-1895). The events of the story take place on Lake Ladoga, where travelers met. One of them is Ivan Seversych, whose share of a lot of tests fell: he was a serf, a slave in Tatar nomads, a soldier and even a novice in a monastery. But, most importantly, Ivan has a miraculous ability to admire the world around him, to be fascinated by him, and the role of a wanderer, a person without a home and a family is destined for the chief hero of fate. The “enchanted wanderer” is the history of the spiritual development of not only the main character, but the entire Russian people.
