The end of history or the death of the West? Reading Spengler. Katasonov V.Yu.

In 2022, a hundred years have been performed since the emergency of the eschatological and service two-volume O. Spengler "Sunset of Europe". The past century confirmed many forecasts of the German philosopher and, moreover, allowed them to extend them not only to the European continent, but also to the West as a whole. Professor V.Yu. Katasonov carried out a huge work on the study of both the views of Spengler on the story and their relationship with the views of such famous Russian philosophers as K. Leontyev, N. Berdyaev, I. Sikorsky and others. The author pays special attention to Orthodox eschatology, drawing parallels between the book of O. Spengler and the labors of St. Nikolai Serbian. But, probably, the most interesting for the reader will be the section of this book, dedicated to the forecasts of the German writer about the future of Russia in the period after the collapse of Western civilization.
