“The end of the beautiful era” is one of the six poetic collections of Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996), the great poet, thinker, essayist, Nobel laureate in literature. For the first time, this collection was published in 1977 at the American publishing house "Ardis", where the works of Russian literature were published for many years, which could not see the light in their homeland. Brodsky wrote that this publishing house saved numerous Russian writers and poets from oblivion and changed the climate of Russian literature itself. In the book, with the participation of friends of the author Vladimir Maramzin and Lev Losev, poems of the 1960s and early 1970s were collected, written before the emigration: “We are talking about the spilled milk”, dedicated to Yalta ”,“ Conversation with the celestial ”,“ Post Aetatem Nostram ”,“ Lithuanian sabotage ”,“ I always insisted that fate is a game. ” and others. Most of these texts became one of the most famous poems of the poet.
