The experience of the Law on Population. Maltus T.
Thomas Robert Maltus (1766 -1834) -English economist, representative of the classical political economy of England, a member of the London Royal Society, a foreign member of the French Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, a foreign member of the Imperial Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg.
In the book “The Experience of the Law on Population”, Maltus wrote that if the population growth does not delay any causes, then the population will double every quarter century, and, therefore, increase exponentially. Due to the limited resources, this will inevitably lead to poverty, hunger and social shocks.
Maltus’s ideas rejected and overthrew many, including the classics of Marxism.
But later again and again, the economists returned to the conclusions of Maltus. His views, in spite of everything, remain relevant until now, especially in the light of the "green agenda".
