The face of the evening moon. Haiku. Basyo Matsuo

The great Japanese poet Matsuo Basyo is rightly considered the creator of the Poetic genre Hike now popular throughout the world. His efforts of three-style from purely game, half-heard poetry gradually turned into high poetic art, imbued with the spirit of Zen-Buddhist philosophy. In this publication, in addition to numerous poems, the so-called “prose-khabun”, a unique alloy of poetry and prose, a vivid example of the combination of two cultural traditions-Chinese and Japanese, are presented.
