The beginning of the era of civil wars in Rome was the performance of the Grachi in 133 BC. e., but the war actually began in 88 BC. e., when Sulla led his legions to Rome and took it by storm. At first, no one realized the scale of the incident, but a year later the opponents of the order established by Sulla themselves went to Rome and took possession of it. In 83 BC. e. Sulla returned from the east, interrupting the war with Mithridate VI Pontic to deal with his enemies in Italy. Almost two years of heavy battles ended in a battle at the Collinage Gate on November 1, 82 BC. e., the terrible epilog of which was the beating of Sulla several thousand prisoners, and he himself became a dictator. For several months, battles in different parts of Italy continued, in Africa, in Spain...
but not only the battles filled these years. Slowly but steadily resolved the issue of the rights of the Italians, the administrative division of Italy changed, and the financial system of Rome was put in order.
