The first continuation of the senior chronicle of the supreme masters is the historical source of the middle of the 15th century on the history of the German order in Prussia. The author of the chronicle is not determined, probably this is a member of the order or a person who had access to the Order Archive. The main part of the chronicle covers the history of the confrontation of the Order with the estates of Prussia (1440) and the first two years of the thirteen -year war (1454-1466) between the Order, on the one hand, and the estates (the so -called “Prussian Union”) and Poland on the other.. The translation allows a wide range of readers to get acquainted with one of the bright periods of the history of the German order, which ended with the loss of a significant part of Prussia. The text of the chronicle is equipped with a detailed reference apparatus.
