The monograph discusses the Marine Policy of Great Britain and the reforms of the British Navy on the eve of the First World War. The transformations of the English naval forces are analyzed in the context of the Anglo-German rivalry of the beginning of the 19th century. Much attention is paid to the evolution of marine weapons and strategic doctrines of the British Admiralty, as well as the roles of a personal factor in the ongoing reforms.
