The book “The Gospel with a brief interpreter” is the first volume of the “New Testament with a brief interpreter”, which is preparing to go out in the publishing house “Christian Life”. Such brief explanations of the Holy Scripture are very convenient in that, being in the form of “notes in the fields”, they do not distract the reader with long -length space comments, but allow you to focus on the gospel text. This contributes to thoughtful reading, helps to better understand the saving teaching that our Lord Jesus Christ left. The main feature of this publication is that each gospel gives a brief substitute interpreter, which explains both whole verses and individual words or phrases. Interpretations are based on the patristic understanding of the gospel revelation, but adapted for the modern reader. For fruitful reading and a deeper understanding, applications are included in the text of the book, parallel places are indicated. The publication is intended for both independent reading and for study in Sunday schools and other educational institutions. The book will be especially useful for teachers of the “Fundamentals of the Orthodox Faith” and “The Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture”.
