The gray -eyed king. Akhmatova A.A.
It is no coincidence that at the beginning of the 20th century, Marina Tsvetaeva called Akhmatova “Anna of All Rus'”, and critics dubbed “Russian Sappho”: it seems that the illustrious poetess embodies the entire Russian poetry. In her lyrics and in her life, almost the whole twentieth century was reflected - from the foggy silver age to the “thawed” sixties. “Most of all she was interested in whether the poet says, whether poetry, Russian poetry, the language of his time, speaks,” said Joseph Brodsky about Akhmatova. She herself managed to become the voice of several generations, choosing the most faithful words for the expression of the spirit of the era. Until now, the lyrics of Anna Akhmatova worries and captivates readers. The book presents selected poems and poems, autobiographical prose and reviews of contemporaries about Anna Akhmatova.
