This book reprints two rare studies of the mid -19th century on the history of ancient Russian culture: “The heroes of the time of the Grand Duke Vladimir on Russian songs”, written by one of the leaders of the Slavophil movement Konstantin Sergeyevich Aksakov (1817-1860), and “Folk South -Russian history traits "Nikolai Ivanovich Kostomarov (1817-1885). The application contains songs about Ilya Muromets and Dobryna Nikitich from the collection of Russian songs prepared by a member of the Slavophil circle Peter Vasilievich Kireevsky (1808-1856), which were used in published works as a subject of research.
