The basis of this book was “Lectures on the history of the late Middle Ages” of a prominent Russian historian, writer and public figure of the 19th century Timofei Nikolayevich Granovsky, which he read in the 1849/50 academic year of the third-year of the historical and philological and second year of law faculties of Moscow University. Wide coverage of topics and questions, an approach that has largely ahead of their time, make them relevant for one and a half centuries.
